Strange days is a video art and sound installation that incorporate breathing human body and custom original software code to talk about
body-machine relationship and the rebirth of the 'new human' of the future.
In Strange Days the body and the machine merge into one network. The body becomes a medium, a portal that receive and transmit information. The terminal-body can now connect and disconnect with other interfaces over the bitsphere. It's an interwoven system which the "knee bone is connected to the I-bahn".
The ambient sound is a synthesis between external and internal organs sounds recorded with binaural technology and stethoscope, that simulate a synchronization of breath and heart beat that yield maximal coherence. The sounds create a human harmonic rhythm that represents the human body-machine.Â
"Shor makes further use in the architectural linear language. This time she projects it on the body of a woman, creating a fragment of the limitless living code. In the encounter between the human female body and the technological language of the line, Shor examines the line between man and machine. Is the body “trapped” in the web? Or has it been connected into it for so long that they are now one? And perhaps now it attempts to encrypt itself in order to maintain its privacy?”
