This piece has been made from an original painting which has been animated and is no 2 in a series of 3 that combine my love of geometrics and architecture with my curiosity surrounding the natural world that underpins us.
These works embrace the medium of digital animation as a way of extending beyond the constraints of my usual studio practise. They allow me to explore more fully some of the broader narratives I am interested in. So, what started as a painting of a perfectly composed utopian environment now tells a bigger story.
The space we can not see, refers to the cycles of nature around us that we often overlook. In this series I have used mushrooms to represent these cycles. Mushrooms embody nature in quiet action and also the represent the duality of the physical and the ephemeral. There is much to learn from them.
This series is complimented by a mushroom soundtrack generously gifted to me by MycoLyco, please google his incredible work. The sounds we can not see, are the sounds which the mushrooms make when they are connected to a speaker which picks up the vibrational sound not audible to the naked ear.
This a reminder to remember we live in a world that goes beyond our senses. My art in all its forms is always serving as a reminder to slow down and to contemplate more deeply our roles in this world.
If you have collected this piece I would love to hear from you personally as I appreciate your support and would like the opportunity to thank you.
