The name of my piece is the many hand god. She is not a god in the literal sense of the word but I used that word to somewhat try and envelope the god-like ability and wonder of the black woman.
The many hands describe the many paths or hats the black woman has to put on in society. She is a mother, a teacher, a wife, a provider and sometimes she is even a father.
She is a woman.
The water flowing from one hand to another signifies the passage of one generation to another generation to another and how women are literally the path by which generations are brought to Fruition. Without her, there is no past present, or future. It is an ode to women. It is an ode to the intelligence, resilience, and comfort that we are blessed to have because of them.
