I made this piece after a very sad and traumatic experience. I don't want to go into much detail, because when all of this has passed I will regret talking about these bad things. Because talking about them is a way of indirectly complaining about them or feeling hopeless and hoping that someone will hear me out and help me. But I have hope. This piece is about how these traumatic experiences continue to tear me apart and how I continue to pick myself up again like the collage like self-portrait in this painting. This artwork not only depicts the trauma and destructive pain we go through, but also our attempt to pick ourselves up again and combine all the broken pieces of our soul to create a new and stronger self. Everything is hand painted.
