Since I was a kid I've been obsessed with this erotic little comics named "Libro Vaquero" that were really popular in Mexico since the late 70's; the stories were drawing and painted by hand, and the topics were usually kinky, romantic and sometimes kind of western. For a lot of people, including me, they were one of the first approaches to the sex imaginary. In this work, I'm mixing this mexican style, including a logo for a famous and popular sonidero called"La Changa" that I addapted to say "Changos" that means "monkeys", and the typo is really popular in this kind of music and the announcements of their concerts painted in walls. This mixed with old illustrations of Japanese monkeys, that i found amazing and really fun, and with the weed paraphernalia and the bananas. All this trying to be painted as I paint with oil and acrylic but digital. In conclusion, its a resume of the things I like and enjoy this days in my banana republic.
