3900x 3674 Pixels 300DPI It's Oct 2nd 2022 and I'm currently making graphite drawings on paper that I'm scanning and developing digitally. I hope to create compositions that will influence a new body of physical works. This drawing was the first of the the new sketches that really caught my eye. My figurations exist in a created world called Forget Me Nots Land (FMNL). FMNL is a place where I investigates social themes, fantasy, and epic adventures of modern-day America through the lens of Afrofuturism. This year I've been reworking how I compose the figures that exist in my created worlds town while also meditating on Abstract Figurations existence in Modernism. The color scheme reminds me of a painting I created early on in the existence of FMNL called-Two Swords. I think this is leading me towards the idea that I'm interested in using this look for a specific tribe that will be named in the future.
