Astra was reborn January 15,1950, under a 1000 yr old Pine tree, in Jagger Forest. She had laid her bloodied, head down on the scarred base of the trunk and felt comfort as the two became one. She could feel the markings of the axes that had stripped the bark away. It was in that moment, she realized she was no different, then this old Pine tree. She had spent her entire life standing in the same spot, allowing others to strip layers away, until she was bare.
She closed her eyes and wished for a new life for her and this old tree. A life where she could remain in the forest and they would take care of each other and never allow anyone to scar them again.
When Astra opened her eyes, she noticed the pain from the side of her head had disappeared. She reached up to touch the open wound left from her fathers latest attack and found that her blood had turned to branches. She had become one with the tree.
A jolt of light suddenly came from the sky and broke the tangled wood that bound them. Astra stood, looked up and without a word the tree let her know they were free.
Astra learned to communicate with all of the creatures in Jagger Forest. Her hair had been replaced with beautifully, colored moss and she still had the branches, that tied her and the old pine together, on the side of her face. She was happy for the first time in her life and she did not miss the outside world.
As time went on, Astra started to open up about her life outside, before her new home. She would talk about her mother dying when she was 5 and how her father used her as a replacement starting at the age of 7. She described when she stated saying no and the blunt force response that always landed on her face.
She would tell these stories to get it out, help her heal. She knew holding on to anger and hatred, hurt her not the abuser. The Plagens, Plant Dragons, would sit quietly and listen to her tales with anger filling their eyes. Their job was to protect the forest and all that entered and she was family. Their only human family, until there was another.
She was found at the bottom of a hill, covered in leaves, as if to have been hiding.
