This piece is a rebuttal to the argument that AI art will be the death of the traditional artist. As the road becomes more congested with the output from AI artists, it will be the traditional artists who stand out.
I like to use this metaphor of horses and cars because although a car is faster than a horse, it usually needs to stick to roads. It is not as agile or as manoeuvrable as a horse. There are many places a horse can go where a car cannot. Cars need someone to operate them, where as a horse is a free spirit and can go wherever it pleases without the need of a rider. AI is just a tool, It can't go anywhere without someone operating it.
AI is a tool for artists to use, to make their lives easier, to unlock their potential, to open up new creative avenues. True art comes from the artist and their intent. I feel that AI will not replace artists, because it will not replace the reason why people create art. We will always have a desire to create by whatever means we feel necessary to convey our feelings and message.
