The pelvis is divided into two regions, the greater pelvis and the lesser pelvis. The greater pelvis, with its widened walls, is solidified forward with the lower abdominal region, the iliac fossae and hypogastrium. It contains part of the abdominal viscera. The lesser pelvis, the narrowest part of the funnel, contains the urinary bladder, the genital organs and the terminal part of the digestive tract.
