“Sneewittchen” [snee-vit-chen] means “Snow White” in German. The Brothers Grimm published it in 1812 in the first edition of their collection Grimms' Fairy Tales, numbered as Tale 53.
This piece was my entry in a themed art challenge: “Snow White: Re-envisioned” 🥰
Format: 4800 x 6000px / 16x20in Print

Through these portraits, I explore themes and styles that are meaningful to me. Whether the particular style evokes memories from my past, represents an idea or belief I hold dear, or reminds me of someone I've encountered in my life - usually the right girl jumps off the screen from the moment I lay eyes on her. Once I am inspired enough to give her a name, I know I've got a keeper 🙌🏻
I curate each girl out of hundreds of potential candidates - only the best make the cut and will move into the next phase. Once selected, the piece is upscaled and brought into Photoshop where it is enhanced and digitally painted to perfection.
Each girl comes with a fortune, unique to her. Kinda like a fortune cookie, but without the cookie 🤓 It will be revealed to her collector after purchase… 🔮
