001// to[SPACE]gether _ #007.FRISSON
@catherinerichards x @LUISFERN5
Frisson uses the idea of a grid wall exposed and expanding in space, to create a feeling of excitement or thrill. The interiority of the wall always surrounds us, normally covered up by materials which protect us by creating clear boundaries between inside and outside. This project strips the wall down to a geometric grid assembly, studied and repeated in sequences, composing vertical and horizontal elements expanding into a sculptural and architectural territory. Catherine’s intent is to give us a visceral feeling of excitement for digital and theoretical space, inducing strong physiological reactions complimented by personal awareness of our role in creating new realities, both unsettling and delightful.
001// to[SPACE]gether is a multi.disciplinary artist group collaboration exploring concepts and themes of the future of SPACE in the METAVERSE. For this NFT project, @LUISFERN5 wanted to bring together a group of artists from different disciplines and distinct points of views to collaborate on one joint project in the spirit of CREATING and inspiring thought around what SPACE, ART & CULTURE could mean in the Metaverse.
16 artists were identified, and through a series of vague “SECRET FILES” correspondence they were given sequential instructions. Every artist was dropped an image file and was asked to investigate, manipulate, add-to and transform through their CREATIVE PROCESS.
15 works emerged. Each visually distinct, a unique blending of creative minds and disciplines, to create a collective of work that will live on the blockchain. All linked to[SPACE]gether by a shared creative spirit that is transforming the way we view, experience and collect art and collectibles.
Catherine Richards is an artist trained in architecture. Catherine works between mediums and scales, designing wearable art objects, tapestries, and architectural environments as digital and physical outputs. She embodies the total artwork, with all scales of an environment designed and considered. Visual and psychological narratives are constructed through sensual materiality in the digital and physical landscape.
Luis Fernandez is a Hybrid Creator, an architect and designer; his work brings together disciplines in both the metaverse and the real world. His digital constructs displace physical places to create new digital spaces, experiences, architectures & landscapes.
