During a dig in Greece, archeologist Violet Verreaux finds a hidden chamber; a long-lost Temple of Athena. Within the temple is a statue which upon sits The Wings of the Champion - a legendary relic said to bestow upon the wearer the blessings of Athena.
Donning the wings, Violet is granted flight, enhanced speed, strength, durability, and wisdom.
Violet takes on the Goddess’s sigil, the owl, and her name, becoming Athena, Champion of the Goddess!
Athena is a creation of artists Daniella Attfield and Blair Shedd.
Daniella was born in Johannesburg in 1999 and moved with her family to Cape Town when she was two years old.
Since a very young age she has been interested in drawing.
Daniella participated in art clubs in primary school and upon reaching high school, chose Visual Arts as a subject for which she matriculated with 100%.
Since then, Daniella has done illustration work for clients, including: designing a deck of playing cards, doing a large scale commission which was published in a magazine and illustrating a book of poetry.
She discovered cryptoart in 2018 and became a full time cryptoartist in 2020.
BLAIR SHEDD is a Vermont-based, critically acclaimed, award winning comic book creator, illustrator, storyboard artist, film poster artist, and writer. Blair is known for his work on DOCTOR WHO for both IDW Publishing and Titan Comics, his cover illustrations for TORCHWOOD, ROBOTECH, WARHAMMER 40K, ASSASSINS CREED, SHERLOCK, and FIGHTING AMERICAN for Titan, covers and interiors for LEGENDS OF OZ and GHOSTBUSTERS for IDW Publishing, and his creator-owned webcomics, THE WORLDS BETWEEN US and NO REST FOR THE WICKED.
