A photo of Charmaine, taken in the Jardin du Palais-Royal, in Paris, France.
Power. It is not only a concept, it is a title, a creed, a standing in society. While power can have a general meaning, it can sometimes be divided categorically; racial, political, religious, gender. Therefore to hold power in more forms than one is not only difficult, but a true challenge.
Charmaine isn't simply powerful. She's a powerful black woman who holds a position of power in her life, but private and social, as well as being powerful in her career.
That is why La Patronne (the boss) is the perfect title for this piece...because she is exactly that.
