SRAKA
A short story about the process of this work which started from a blank canvas to become a painting with an idea that I want to convey. Previously I had never made a painting with canvas media of this size, (100x120cm), due to my fear that I would fail to create the visual ideal that was in my head. Canvas is a terrifying medium for me. Long story short I decided to try to conquer my fear of the big canvas with an idea that is closely related to our daily lives.
After I got up the courage, I actually realized one thing that sometimes our biggest fear is just a fog blocking something that is actually not as scary as we imagine in our head and vice versa.
This work tells the story of human nature that does not feel enough with something that has been obtained. Whether (something is) good or bad, never has enough.
This work is closely related to greed and emptiness at the same time that sometimes human can ever experience. Big eyes as a symbol of human identity itself as well as focus and objects around it as a metaphor for something that is obtained but is mortal.
However, I also allow to anyone who sees this work to interpret as far as possible organically so that this work can be enjoyed on the basis of their personal experiences.
