Generative art begins with instructions.
One of the first generative artworks in my collection begins with Sol LeWitt's Wall Drawing #118, which is a 1971 conceptional work with instructions to connect randomly-placed points with straight lines on a continuous surface of wall.
Creative processes always built upon the work of others. With his ArtBlocks collection "LeWitt Generator Generator", gen artist Mitchell F. Chan stands on Sol LeWitt's shoulders here. And now so does this Etch.
