I've been fortunate to capture such a scene while hiking up the Dent de Vaulion in Switzerland. The blanket of snow covering the rocks gave a beautiful texture in the foreground, while the fog slowly revealed the pine trees.
I wanted to translate the cold feeling I had while shooting into an image. Using my full-spectrum camera, I took a shot with the IR 720nm filter to turn the deep green of the trees into a frozen blue.
