The land of Cowboys and Indians echoed through American cinema since the early days of film. Rugged ranchers, bandidos, and the native people all in a fight for their freedom. As an Apache native this is the only history I observed from my surroundings growing up in northern California. Visiting these spiritual places connected me with the land in a way that’s hard to verbalize. This is what drove me to dive deeper in my roots and move out to the high desert to capture the beauty of the land who raised my ancestors.
