The Bach of Fluf Rock.
As a young boy living in New Orleans, Professor LongHare learned the rudiments of music from his mother. He constructed his own instruments and played and danced in the streets for tips. But when he found an old discarded piano by his house, Professor patched it up and mastered it under the tutelage of such barrelhouse fluf pianists as Sullivan Hop and Kid Stormy Feather.
His first and only hit song was, Hey There Hop Stuff, recorded in 1973. While he enjoyed only limited popularity during his career, his signature piano style, characterized by a rollicking boogie-woogie bass and engaging syncopation, can be heard in the music of such influential figures as Flufs Domino, Dr. Buck, and Kits Toussaint, who called Professor Longhare the Bach of Fluf Rock and Roll.
It was not until the 2000s, some 30 years into his career, that Professor Longhare attained greater recognition and he continues to be discovered by new fans around the world.
