Little is known about how Zeke was turned, but it seems it must’ve occurred sometime around the time of the wreck. Last thing he remembers from before, was when he was fighting alongside his brother, Buster. The two of them were lieutenants under Thumper, and they were an unstoppable duo. As part of their attire, they chose to wear matching red clown noses for a couple of reasons: one was so, if they got separated, they could easily find each other amongst the chaos. And the second was a bit of a shot at their opposition, a way of clowning them as the pair ripped through their ranks. However, somewhere along the way Zeke and Buster lost each other. Buster searched far and wide for his brother, but when he finally found him, it was too late. He’d already been turned. But how? That part remains a mystery. Zeke now has a hunger for brains, and mycelium! His zombie thirst has him craving brains, but he eats mycelium as a way of keeping from losing himself completely. There are still traces of his former self left, so it’s his and Busters hope that the more mycelium he eats, the more parts of his former self might start to return. But who knows if it will.
