I started this piece a few weeks ago, when the conversation surrounding artist royalties came about. First and foremost, many of us were misled coming into this space, being told a benefit of NFTS is secondary sales for life. This is not currently possible with the tech (as of 9/12/22). It's important artists understand this. However, we are also creating a new paradigm. Royalties, though they have evolved into the payment systems we know, have been around since the early Feudal systems. Ironically I was going to release this last Thursday, but held for respect. That said, we have a chance to create a new culture, one where all are rewarded by the value they provide to this planet. Just because this tech doesn't currently allow for secondary sales for life does not mean we should give up on the artists. Can we build a system better than Royalties that serves the same function? Can we honor artists & live by a moral code? Anyways, it was important for me to mint this pre-merge. THE LAST OF THAT ERA.
