目目連
たくさんの目を持つ妖怪。古くは鳥山石燕によって、家の障子にたくさんの目が浮かび上がる妖怪として描かれた。東北の津軽地方などでも目撃例があり、碁打ち師の念が碁盤に注がれ、家全体に現れたものといわれている。目といえば鳥避けの目の『みられている感じ』なんかも、目目連と共通する力を持っているのではないかと思い、新たにたかくらが『鳥避けの目』を目目連のモチーフとした。
MOKUMOKUREN
A YOKAI with many eyes. It was depicted by Toriyama Sekien as a yokai with many eyes appearing on the shoji screens of a house. There have been sightings of this yokai in the Tsugaru region of Tohoku, and it is said to be the result of a go player's thoughts being poured into the board, causing it to appear over the entire house. Speaking of eyes, the 'feeling of being watched' of the bird-swatcher's eyes may have the same power as the eyes of Moku-Moku-Ren, so Takakura decided to use the 'bird-swatcher's eyes' as a new motif for Moku-Moku-Ren.
