“Whatever else you may think, this place is not the centre of the universe.”
“It is,” he said. “Because if we ever stopped believing that, we would all die.”
from The Inverted World by Christopher Priest (1974)
You gaze down the not-so-empty space with distant twin suns and sparkling clusters of deadly rock and gas. To your right stands a guardian, stoic in his duty and silent in machination. Jump-pad to the Portal looks deceptively clear of commotion. You take a step towards the intended void and in to the unintended skirmish before.
It is one of the photos extracted from the Voyages collaboration videos. On top of the video level transformation, each photograph undergoes its own path of alteration mixed with metamorphosis. No note taking on these. They're almost impossible to recreate and that's the added scarcity, experimentation and fun.

This artwork is part of a collaboration titled "Voyages" between Hulki Okan Tabak and FFiiZZyy (aka RobotPainter) originating December 2020. The series title is a salute to Carl Sagan and the Voyager 1 probe in tandem with the discovery of new lands in the project.
The project originates from an extensive set of FFiiZZyy's mesmerizing videos about Alien Worlds upon which HoT has made transformative visual and audio edits. The end result is a mix of video, GIF and photos. While mostly abstract in nature, there is a thematic connection between the pieces in both the visual sense and also by immersing the viewer into the many worlds imagined within.
