This piece is an ode to the curious experience of being a witness to the past and the self, witnessing all of life as one.
It depicts a woman looking out at the shores of the beach that she frequented at significant moments in her life. The decision of doing so is cemented in the ‘past’, and now done is impossible to change. Every moment, every conversation, and every decision is permanent, and the memory can easily be witnessed. With how real these memories feel on being revisited could the present moment be witnessed by another self? Is instinct a connection to this self beyond the shores of time and space? If the past can be experienced so viscerally, this moment could be one being experienced in the same manner, and all of the future, determined, is witnessed by a self that one serendipitously connects to, experiencing ‘knowing’.
There is a gap between the void and the conscious moment which encompasses all of what we deem to be true. The shores of decision, time, and space are a beautiful game to witness and play with until finally the experience is over.
