LONDON EYE explores themes of technology & time, human ambition & digital surveillance. The City bears witness, layers of humanity are documented in its built fabric, encircled by the River. The rippling surface acts as a border between the physical world and an intangible realm of lives lived and lives to come.
The artwork combines frame-by-frame charcoal drawing with high-end computer animation. The sound design samples Gottfried Huppertz’s 1927 score for Fritz Lang’s film Metropolis.
