March 2020 - #2 emerged from experimenting with media, material, and process. In this work Garet focuses on the properties of photography combined with repurposing discarded utilities, exploring technological malfunction, and found media to create the work. Garet applied transformative techniques, both tactile-analog and digital, that puts to test and transcends the sole nature of the source materials. The genesis of the work commenced by orchestrating different arrangements between the emission of film’s celluloid onto a projection screen, and a live feed of video connected to the computer for processing and feeding back imagery to the screen composing the work in real time. Garet then captured the combined output as an end result.
