My journey with Patti Smith started over 25 years ago and we have been collaborating ever since.
In 1999, this image began as a simple Polaroid portrait. Then, in 2005, I converted it into a pixel-based image utilizing an HP scanner and Photoshop software. As part of my ongoing exploration of image and technology, I put together 'Illumination: Who Are Poets', an exhibition in 2011, that featured large-scale polychromatic pixelated portraits of Patti and 11 other artists, derived from my archive. Now, as we enter the era of data intelligence, I am releasing "patti punk", which reflects a multitude of innovation throughout my career and captures the essence of Patti Smith: Artist, Poet, Activist, Singer-Songwriter and Traveler, affectionately known as the original “Punk Poet Laureate."
