Nothing gets my stomach turning more, than seeing some climate activists destroying a Van Gogh with a can of soup. I get it, demonstrating for earth and oil causes.
Here's one question... Why did you choose to ruin artist's work? Why not a different way to protest? Does Van Gogh's painting "Sunflowers" really deserve a can of soup throw at it? Now we see his other piece "Peach Trees in Blossom' getting vandalized. J.MW. Turner's 'Tomson's Aeolian Harp' getting hands glued onto it. John Constable's 'The Hay Wain' even getting some glued hand action. Who could believe 'The Last Supper' by Giampietrino would get the same glued hand treatment. Is this painting activism a new fad? Let me not forget Sandro Botticelli's 'Primavera' couldn't escape the wrath of glued activism neither. So first it's soup, now it's glue. Can we all just get along? Leave artist's art alone!
No? Do I really have to name all the works that have been vandalized?. There's been a long list, Umberto Boccioni's 'Unique Forms of Continuity in Space', Laocoรถn and His Sons, Scrovegni Chapel, 'Sistine Madonna' by Raphael, even another Picasso 'Massacre in Korea' more glue.
In the end, it all started from a can of tomato soup at the National Gallery in London. When does this stop? Artist's don't deserve this type of treatment. Not from anyone. I created this beautiful artwork for this exact occasion.
