The relief has been created for millions of years in a row. The land rose with rocky mountain tops, cosmic forces poured gigawatts of energy into the process. Time-sand crumbled the mountains, scrubbed the valleys. It made Olkhon what it is now. A free bird witnessed it. The worship of the white-headed eagle as an ancestor of shamans is typical of the Baikal peoples' culture. According to the materials on mythology, shamanism appeared simultaneously with the creation of the world, and the first shaman was a son of the heavenly god who descended to Earth in the form of an eagle and created a shaman there.
