"Fimmina" is a series of black and white shots taken by photographer Paulo Renftle in Taormina, Sicily, with a film Hasselblad. The title derives from a word in Sicilian dialect, which means precisely "woman".
I started from this photo to create my work "SKIN AND BONES I", my first drop on SuperRare.
With a careful process of analysis and selection, I literally discomposed the photographic image created by Paulo, transforming it into infinite polygonal tiles of a digital mosaic. And this is how these tiles in white, black and grayscale become the plumage of a magpie, which flies through the Sicilian skies and is captured by what glitters.
The magpie steals shiny objects, just as the beauty of a stunning Sicilian woman is able to capture a gaze, becoming a magpie herself.
