Not one image documented with Aurora in Hawaii. They have documented it happening back in the 1800's way before digital cameras. To say the event that happened tonight is mind boggling. I am exhausted with pure adrenaline. Never in a Million Years did I expect to get one image of the Aurora in my home of Hawaii. On the island of Oahu. I was at the most northern tip of the island where it was pitch black. After sundown I ate dinner and went for it. Not expecting nothing but Stars with dark skies. At first glance I seen a gas cloud from my experience in the past from chasing Aurora. I said that might be just a normal cloud. Took this image with my Phone as I parked. Once I seen the red rising I knew the Aurora granted us a view for the history books. I got out my other camera set up the tripod and this image did not come again. I was not only bummed but shocked. Because I just witness something that has never been documented on any camera. This art piece is Rare. And I don't have words to describe why I was at that specific place at the exact moment. I feel in tune with the planet and most times I risk taking trips and using my income on a limb. Not really thinking it through. Postprandial Somnolence
Rare is something I often tend to create on this platform. The owners who created SR made me push my art above my imagination. This was purely from something above. After seeing my Twitter post have over 600k Views of Aurora being captured in all 50 states. Decided to check one last camera. I forgot that I tried capturing it with Canon gear. Canon camera had 35mm Lens with aperture at 1.4. This was on Bulb setting with shutter being open at 45 seconds. Reds and Orange got drawn in by the Shutter being open longer. Most importantly the lens Aperture was low enough to get more detail. The solar system sent the world into a total shock state. Putting things into perspective I am speechless as I post this. Main reason is the Rarity of this image. There was only one window. The red Aurora was caught on time lapse video via summit of Mauna Kea. Remember I wasn't aware of what just happened. Not one person was in the area shooting images. Most of the island in other areas was covered with clouds. Time stamp video above Mauna Kea provides valid proof of this video. It is on Youtube and it is called Red Sprite. After this Aurora Event I waited hours and tried taking more images of strictly stars. Zero Aurora was around. To be at the right place at the right exact time is something I cannot explain. But I do hope everyone can appreciate one another and show love and gratitude. JMV ART 1/1
