“BUILDING BLOCKS” — This piece is the first in a small series of photos that touches on my love for capturing extreme perspectives through aerial photography. Perspectives rarely seen by the human eye.
A nod to the unique work of architect Ildefons CerdĂ , this photograph looks down onto the Eixample district of Barcelona where his cleverly designed grind pattern of blocks stand like a puzzle below. As you enter Barcelona by plane, the blocks are hard to miss, a huge area and perfectly uniform - it had always intrigued me. In 2019 I began the tedious planning of an open-door helicopter flight over the city, the goal of course was to capture this iconic landscape. After a few months of coordination, permits and aligning on the best time of year for the perfect light, I took to the skies in March and spent a perfect sunset capturing what would become one of my most iconic images.
The collector will receive a gallery quality, signed and framed physical print of the image alongside the NFT. The size of the print will be determined by the collector and Jacob once the sale is complete.
