Shintech, Inc. and its subsidiary K-Bin, Inc., agreed to spend 4.8 million to comply with the Clean Air Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act at their manufacturing facilities in Freeport, Texas. The companies also agreed to pay a 2.585 million civil penalty to resolve environmental violations under the Clean Air Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and the Clean Water Act, and to perform 4.7 million worth of supplemental environmental projects.
