Initially a quiet and bullied student, Eli joins Cobra Kai Dojo and gains confidence after learning to "flip the script". He becomes corrupted by Cobra Kai's ruthless mentality until his conscience begins to re-emerge, as he questions the choices he's made since joining Cobra Kai. He leaves the dojo to join the now combined Miyagi-Do Karate and Eagle Fang Karate dojos. He tries to make amends for his past transgressions, but faces retribution from his former comrades. He eventually joins Miyagi-Do and becomes the 2019 boys division champion in the 51st Annual Karate Championships.
