Portrait of my father, Depaver Jan, who tore up his driveway so he could plant food instead back in 1996. He ended most conversations by saying “Have a global warming day!” and penned it into an eco-rock song which was played on the local radio stations around Humboldt County, California. Jan passed away in October 2018. I always wished he could be more “normal” when I was growing up, but lately I’ve been really appreciating him and all of the people doing this good, essential work to protect our planet.
