Remnants is a series of drawings based upon the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest of the Eastern Sierras in California. Some trees here are as old as the pyramids. Each pillar of time grows slowly, battered and twisted by its extreme conditions.
A warming climate has put these weathered giants on a precipice. I envision myself in the future, wandering among the ruins of these trees, searching for any remaining traces of life. This tree stands as an anchor of memory, a surviving testament, a witness.
