That's the thing about growing up. As you grow, you regret your mistakes, but somewhere down the line, you eventually give in. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you learn to value people for what they are, who they are, and what they stand for. You learn how to move on, and most important, you learn how to find salvation in all the things you once believed to be your doom.
