We were afraid AI would erase us.
Turns out we happily erased ourselves - trading love for metrics, friendship for reach.
At first it was innocent: a like here, a retweet there.
Then rules appeared - “don’t waste time on the invisible, speak only to the popular.”
Tiny concessions. Tiny betrayals.
Years later you search for yourself in the mirror and find nothing but engagement stats.
You didn’t die. You didn’t even fade.
You were absorbed. Piece by piece, you turned from human into data.
