At least it distorts the eyes partly well, so you have the apparent face, the champagne glass, distorting the visible but distorted, the eyes of the pepe. It's something that happens often. Everything we see might not always be true, it's always easier to accept what's visible without questioning its authenticity. There is an interest in that which is true and notable and which the visible does not show us. This interest can take the form of a quite intense feeling, a sort of conflict, one might say, between the visible that is distorted and the visible that is present.
