The 'machines' built by the professionals are wondrous, powerful, and elusive. Those who use them are granted seemingly impossible powers of scale and mobility. They provide access to areas thought to be unassailable, and even entire new worlds. These machines are intricate devices, built from metal and configured with dazzling array of parts that, when stimulated properly, produce complex interdimensional backdrops and experiences. Use of the machines must be carefully considered and monitored. Entering a malfunctioning construct could depower its user or permanently damage the delicate space-time continuum. Along with the machines come other mysterious devices; glowing 'items', 'interdimensional ampoules' and an occasional 'clock', that appear seemingly out of nowhere. These too can only be used with the utmost caution; with a mere blinked an entire life could be withdrawn and damned beyond retrieval. Know that risks have to be taken, and pathways explored, but with the proper preparation each journey can bring untold rewards.
