Unlike their morphologically modern cousins, they lack the ability to breathe fire, but their poison sacs are slightly more potent. They are also slightly larger and more robust. They seem drawn to the presence of Dopepedon, and have only been found in close proximity to the mighty beast.

Droplins are known as one of the friendliest and most beautiful inhabitants of the shallow coastal waters of Schmryptopia. Their diet consists mostly of seaweed, and they often school in small groups of up to a dozen individuals. They are gregarious creatures, living in groups known as schmerds, composed of 20-30 individuals. They reproduce via parthenogenesis, budding off new Schmryptoads during times of plenty.
