I think that the deleuzian concept of rhizome takes shape in the cryptographic decentralization, as he postulated at the time, the rhizome is a type of non-hierarchical structure that combines points and becomings but that in turn can become a tree and form intersecting relationships with hierarchical structures.
"The *rhizome* is a centreless network, where every node connects with every other in a subterranean and horizontal fashion, allowing multiple, non-hierarchical entry points."
Deleuze and Guattari compare the *rhizome* with it’s opposite; the binary, vertical, linear and hierarchical model of knowledge represented by the *tree*.
