This work was created by 3D scanning the traditional dances of "Shiiba Kagura," passed down in Shiiba Village, Miyazaki Prefecture—one of Japan's three most secluded regions. The 3D scanning process utilized volumetric capture to record physical forms and motion capture to record movements. By combining these two datasets, a new form of expression has been realized. Three types of Shiiba Kagura dances were performed by members of the Kawanokuchi Kagura Preservation Society of Shiiba Village. Each individual NFT records frame position, camera position, field of view, and camera orientation, and is linked to a still image (.png) generated from the scan data alongside motion-embedded point cloud data (.ply) created especially for this work. The complete capture data will be archived and made publicly available.
