A League of Her Own
Homemade charcoal on paper. This drawing was much cleaner when I first did it. After the session it was rolled up with the others and some chalk from another piece rubs off on it. I could easily avoid this, but I've come to love this extra, unpredictable life they have. Parts get added, others blurred. It's almost like I should never have seperated them at all.
Drawn Figures
Barely Moving
Her contemplation is eternal. What if we're all just pigments on a page, figments of an arists musings. Chalk and charcoal on newsprint paper.
Drawn Figures
Soriah's Stare
A backward glance, a double take, that unsure familiarity, that flirtatious curiosity. Charcoal on newsprint paper.
Drawn Figures
Abeit Brief
Out of body, inter body, intra bodily experience. Where do I feel most at peace, at home, and what thrill to expand beyond the comfortable and experience the unknown interdimensionality of mind and body. Chalk on coloured paper.
Drawn Figures
Embodiment
I want to fall in love with every piece of art I create. Chalk and conte on coloured pastel paper.
Drawn Figures
That Look
As a drawing emerges, there is a pivotal point where the figure is given enough life, enough energy, but maintains enough freedom, and enough agency. Finding this point is the goal of every figurative drawing. Charcoal on newsprint paper.
Drawn Figures
Into Being
Enter a room with eyes closed. What is there? Who is there? Are the possibilities infinite, or do are they limited by memory and logic? Charcoal and conte on coloured paper.
Drawn Figures
Light in the Dark
Drawing is exploration. Of form, of figure, of feeling.
Drawn Figures
Nice Weather for Drawing
Quiet moments of self reflection. So underrated. So necessary.
