Sutura is a generative art project by Jimena Buena Vida, created with p5.js and inspired by Frida Kahlo’s life and legacy.
Named after the Latin word for “stitched” or “union,” the project explores themes of resilience, connection, and transformation. Using vivid colors, organic forms, and generative algorithms, Sutura celebrates the beauty of mending and the power of unity that arises from embracing our experiences, much like Kahlo’s ability to transform pain into art.
In Resonance: Echoes of Frida is a first-of-its-kind venture in which we're reimagining the legacy of one of the world's most iconic artists through generative art. Sutura marks the beginning of an incredible new chapter for how we can explore Frida's lasting impact on the world of art.
