Flames lick the night,
Passion burns, unchecked.
Wild, untamed desire -
A market in unrest.
Driven by greed, it rises,
Heedless of reason or rhyme.
Caution cast to the winds,
Madness reigns for a time.
But embers fade, dreams die.
The fire's fierce blaze subsides.
In ashes, the bitter truth:
Excess leads where sorrow resides.
The key is to find balance amid the flames,
To temper exuberance with reason's refrain.
For only then can the spirit's true aims
Shine brightly, without succumbing to pain.
