Shortly after settling into my new life in Washington State earlier this summer, I woke up one day to find a light rainfall outside, along with both the trees and mountains around us being ensnared in a dense fog. I had a quick chat with my roommates, and we decided to make a trip out towards the mountains, Mt Baker to be specific. Almost an hour into the drive, we became eager to start shooting photos, and we decided to make a quick jaunt down a forest service road one of my roommates was loosely familiar with.
The atmosphere down this road was surreal. After a short drive, we stumbled upon a viewpoint that took our breath away—a valley ensnared under a shroud of fog. It was as if the heavens and earth had conspired to tuck this spectacle away, revealing it only to those willing to seek it.
As the fog wove its tapestry through the valley, the view changing minute by minute making the scene wildly different, I captured this fleeting masterpiece. I later accentuated the photo's cool tones in post to amplify its cool, gloomy mood. The result is "Under The Shroud of Fog," a photograph that immortalized this moment, this snapshot in time.
