The clouds impressed me with their power and speed as I faced my camera south towards the subtle light of civilization. Not knowing exactly what the capture would look like, I pressed the shutter. When the contact sheet arrived this one felt like a metaphor for rising up and taking action. Long exposure, shot on 35mm film, scanned and digitized.
Hawaii is known for its natural splendor and bright tropical colors, however I was interested in a different view. I wanted to see what I couldn't see everyday, the spirit of the Islands so to speak.
