The Twilight Knight stood before Mira, knowing that this was to be their final encounter. Born of stars, the celestial beings were connected to the well-being of the cosmos, and fate had assigned them duties they were bound to fulfil.
Mira, looking away, was not ready to say goodbye. She had asked the Knight to meet her one last time before he embarked on his journey. His task was to guide the suns of old galaxies to a safe slumber with his great sword, Sun Eater. It was said Sun Eater was forged from the fragments of the Ending Blade. Mira herself had an important task: bringing fortune and long life to the living worlds. They were deeply in love and stood heartbroken.
Mira felt a sense of emptiness, knowing that she could not bring fortune to herself. However, the Knight remained calm, reminding Mira that her task was noble, for the worlds needed long life and good fortune. He also made her a promise: she would remain in his heart, and once the last sun slept forever, he would return to her.
The Twilight Knight is my latest 1/1 on SuperRare, finishing the first Ending Blade trilogy, though the larger 'Space Fantasy' universe continues. The piece is open to offers.
