At the edge of the first forest sat a great spirit; the guardian of wolves, foxes and boars. He lay upon his favourite rock in the clearing, which he had done so many times before. However, this night was special, for it was his last on this plane.
He had roamed the galaxy's vast expanse, seeing all it had to offer. But now, as he lay there, he knew that his time was coming to an end. He had seen so much, his body glowed with the light of stars, yet at the end, he felt alone. That was until a visitor arrived. A young human who seemed familiar came and sat with the spirit. The young human explained they were an ancestor of a great warrior who had fought alongside the spirit. The weakened spirit's eyes lit up, for he remembered a great friend he had lost many years ago. The human calmly said to the spirit:
"It was passed down in our family that the next forest spirit is born after a thousand eclipses of the moon, and the older one passes on. My family promised our ancestors that on this day, you would not be alone".
After this, the human sat with the spirit, sharing old tales of adventures that the spirit that his family still spoke of.
With his last words, the spirit said, "Thank you for being by my side". The stars in his body began to disperse, and his eyes slowly closed.
"It is my honour," the human said. "You have lived a great life, and it is time for you to move on to the next one."
