Hekate is a goddess of Greek mythology capable of both good and evil. She was associated with witchcraft, magic, necromancy, the Moon, doorways, and creatures of the night like hell-hounds and ghosts. She was the only child of the Titan Perses and Asteria from whom she received her power over heaven, earth, and sea. Hekate assisted Demeter in her search for Persephone, guiding her through the night with flaming torches.
